What is XRM?
I am sure a lot of you in the CRM space and are hearing this new buzzword popping up (XRM). So what is XRM anyway?
XRM is basically the ability to use CRM as a business application platform which can be used for building and creating your LOB (Line of Business) applications.
My 2 cents explanation
XRM -> .NET -> OS
First you had the Operating system on which you could build programs without having to worry about memory, kernels etc. All that was handled by the OS. Then came the programming platform like the .NET framework which would enable you to create business applications. Taking this a step further, you now have XRM which is a business application platform which further gives you a very good starting point to take this and build applications without having to worry a lot of the things like security, metadata etc.
